We can undertake a wide range of chimney repair projects from smaller tasks like replacing damaged chimney pots and installing bird guards through to much more complicated works, such as:
● Repointing — Over time, mortar joints can become weathered, resulting in erosion that can lead to water penetration and significant chimney damage. Repointing renews the external surface of the mortar joint, restoring its strength and durability.
● Flue lining installation — Often installed as part of a log burner installation, flue linings are also useful in chimney repair and refurbishment projects. For example, older chimneys may not have a clay tile chimney liner at all, or the existing clay liner has somehow become damaged.
● Lead flashing repair — An important aspect of waterproofing, lead flashing provides a seal between the chimney and the roof. If the flashing becomes damaged, repairing or replacing it effectively will require an experienced touch.
● Chimney rebuilds — An unstable chimney can be a safety hazard. Pieces of masonry could fall at any moment, particularly in a storm, leading to property damage or personal injury. The best solution is prevention — with careful maintenance and repointing when necessary. However, if the damage is too extensive, then a complete or partial rebuild of the chimney structure may be required.
